Online Learning Specialist – Amsterdam

With the objective of delivering innovative learning solutions designed to improve healthcare professionals’ knowledge and competencies, the Kenes Education department is looking for an Online Learning Specialist, focused on continuing medical education. As a specialist in (e-)learning design and development, you will create impactful and quality e-learning interventions contributing to improved knowledge and competencies and ultimately improved patient care.

The online learning specialist will work on exciting learning projects for medical associations and manage the development process of learning strategies and e-learning projects. There will be a close collaboration between the Online Learning Specialist and the Educational Committees of our clients. Important in this role is to connect and liaise well with these stakeholders to ensure the promotion and that learning materials suit the clients’ target audience needs.


  • Design impactful and quality (e-)learning programs and tools for a variety of medical topics and healthcare professionals
  • Implement learning content including writing, editing, and delivery of high-quality educational resources produced together with healthcare professionals (content experts), according to project needs, timelines and specifications
  • Coordinate communication with educational committees (healthcare professionals/ content experts)
  • Support and maintain online learning platforms on a daily basis
  • Ensure that all developed, written content is copy edited and clear prior to finalisation
  • Assess the usage reports of the online learning platforms and activities, inform stakeholder and take appropriate actions, if required
  • Conduct ongoing review of different methods of materials and make recommendations to improve the way we offer our content, service, and support to clients
  • Support the development of needs assessments and gap analysis on different topics in healthcare
  • Continually seek improvements in external vendor management and supplier strategy
  • Coordinate and support on the roll-out of (e-)learning initiatives
  • Advice on blended learning delivery strategy
  • Management for learning projects

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor degree in education and/or academic background
  • Minimum of two-year work experience, preferably in online learning
  • Experience and knowledge about online learning systems (LMS-Moodle and CMS/ authoring tools)
  • Proven ability to develop and implement pragmatic and innovative learning solutions with an understanding of adult learning principles
  • Fluent English (spoken and written) and clear communication skills
  • Copywriting skills with a command of writing conventions and the ability to self-edit
  • Strong computer literacy including Microsoft Office (e.g. Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Excel) and Adobe PDF
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively with colleagues from different departments and with healthcare professional clients
  • Flexible and responsive to tight timelines
  • Project management skills
