Kenes Experts to Lead Key Discussions at the European CME Forum 2026

Kenes Group will once again take an active role at the European CME Forum (ECF), one of the leading gatherings dedicated to the future of Continuing Medical Education (CME) and Continuing Professional Development (CPD). The 19th Annual European CME Forum will take place from 11-13 November 2026 in Hoofddorp, the Netherlands, under the theme“Future-proofing CME/CPD.”

The event brings together medical societies, education providers, regulators, accreditors, and pharmaceutical industry representatives to explore emerging trends, best practices, and practical solutions shaping healthcare education.

This year’s programme will see several Kenes experts contributing to thought-provoking workshops focused on some of the most important questions facing healthcare education today, from the impact of artificial intelligence to learner engagement and clinical behaviour change.

Human Skills in an AI-Driven Healthcare Landscape

Nuria Fernández, Online Education Specialist at Kenes Group, will lead the workshop“Human Skills in an AI World: What Should CME Teach Next?”

As artificial intelligence becomes increasingly integrated into healthcare practice, the session will explore an important question for educators: if technology can support information retrieval and routine cognitive tasks, which uniquely human capabilities will become most valuable for healthcare professionals?

Rather than focusing on AI itself, the workshop will examine how educational programmes can help develop the skills that remain essential for delivering high-quality, patient-centred care. Participants will discuss the future competencies healthcare professionals will need and how CME/CPD programmes should evolve to support them.

Rethinking How Clinical Change Happens

Kenes Group’s Pamela Funes, Continuing Education Manager,  will join an international panel for the workshop“Beyond the Straight Line: Rethinking CME’s Role in Clinical Behaviour Change,” alongside Reinhard Griebenow (European Cardiology Section Foundation), Pan Chen (PeerVoice), and Sarah Nisly (Decera Clinical).

The session will challenge the common assumption that new knowledge automatically leads to changes in clinical practice. Drawing on evidence from implementation science, behavioural psychology, and health systems research, the workshop will explore the many factors that influence healthcare professionals’ decisions and actions.

Participants will examine where education can have the greatest impact, where other influences play a larger role, and how these realities should shape both educational design and outcomes measurement.

Designing Learning Experiences That Last

Kenes experts Pamela Funes and Margarita Velcheva, Continuing Education Services Manager, will also contribute to“Engage, Retain, Apply: A Practical Framework for Learning Experience Design,” in collaboration with Sarah Atwood and Kim Storck from Medscape Education.

The workshop will focus on practical approaches to creating educational experiences that not only capture attention but also support long-term learning and real-world application. As healthcare professionals face growing volumes of information and increasingly complex learning environments, designing programmes that encourage engagement and knowledge retention is becoming more important than ever.

Why Kenes Values the European CME Forum

For Kenes, the European CME Forum provides an opportunity to engage in open, interactive discussions about the value, impact, and future of continuing medical education.

By bringing together diverse perspectives from medical societies, education providers, regulators, accreditors, and industry partners, the Forum creates an environment where shared challenges can be explored collaboratively, and new ideas can emerge. These discussions help advance the quality, relevance, and effectiveness of healthcare education while strengthening collaboration across the broader CME ecosystem.

As healthcare and medical education continue to evolve, Kenes remains committed to contributing to these critical conversations and helping shape learning experiences that support healthcare professionals worldwide.
