SECC & Kenes Inspire Healthy Delegates at ESO

Geneva, Switzerland, April 27, 2015 – Kenes Group Ltd., a leading Professional Conference Organizer (PCO) and Association Management company, is pleased to report that delegates at the inaugural European Stroke Organisation (ESO) Conference, which took place earlier this month (16-19 April) at the SECC in Glasgow, were among the first to benefit from free bikes during the event. The conference, organised by Kenes Group, welcomed over 2,600 delegates, far above the expectations of the ESO. Delegates enjoyed fresh air and exercise outside of the conference hall, a result of the new partnership between the SECC and Nextbikes, that allowed delegates complementary biking throughout the conference. Indeed, a healthy and free alternative to getting around the city.

“We’re delighted to support the SECC in this initiative; it’s a great idea and allows us to offer delegates healthy, free transport. Kenes is deeply involved with social responsibility and we’re happy to see our partners engaged in such an important activity,” commented Dan Rivlin, CEO, Kenes Group. “We’re always looking at initiatives that enhance the experience of delegates at our conferences and it’s great to see venues like the SECC taking the lead.”

“One of our key focuses as a venue is to enrich the delegate experience while at conference. This is the first partnership of its kind and allows us to offer a healthy alternative for attendees to travel in and around the conference district of the city,” comments Kathleen Warden, Director of Conference Sales at the SECC. “This is an innovation that lends itself to the many national and international association conferences that come to the SECC and offering Nextbikes to ESO delegates was a natural fit for everyone.”

Aileen Crawford, Head of Conventions at Glasgow City Marketing Bureau, added, “Glasgow’s success can largely be attributed to its close city-wide relationships, a unique framework working in unison to achieve great results. The SECC’s new partnership with Nextbikes is an innovative example of this and showcases Glasgow’s position as a forward-thinking, world-class conference destination which puts delegates at the heart of its conventions offering.”

The SECC’s partnership with Nextbikes was launched last month and has been well received by clients from every walk of life. Free bikes are available to association delegates visiting the venue, with plans to extend the offer across all conferences as the offer becomes more popular.
