
ECCMID 2015 boasted a broad and comprehensive sessions
Hosted at the luxurious Bella Center, the largest congress venue in Scandinavia, ECCMID welcomed over 10,700 participants from over 111 countries, hailing from the USA, UK, Germany, Spain, and France.
Geneva, Switzerland, May 5, 2015 – Kenes Group, a leading Professional Conference Organiser (PCO) and Association Management Company (AMC), is pleased to report the success of the recent ECCMID 2015 – the 25th European Congress of Clinical Microbiology and Infectious Diseases conference, held in Copenhagen, Denmark, April 25-28.
The 4-day conference, the largest of its kind in the world, included keynote lectures, symposia, educational workshops and meet-the-expert sessions on parallel tracks covering the entire field of infectious diseases and clinical microbiology. “The steady growth in importance of ECCMID has made it our mission to maintain or even increase the excellence of this congress,” commented Prof. Murat Akova, ECCMID President. “The 2015 conference provided an excellent forum for delegates to attend, update their knowledge and learn about the latest innovations in the field,” he added.
ECCMID 2015 boasted a broad and comprehensive number of sessions – 203 sessions in all, that included 11 keynotes, 97 Symposia/Oral, 18 Meet the Expert, 19 Workshops, 27 Integrated Symposia, 24 ePoster Sessions, and 6 Poster Sessions. This year realised unmatched online and social media successes as well, with more than 8 million impressions on Twitter, an increase of 290% over last year’s congress, and over 5,000 downloads of the congress mobile app, which helped participants plan schedules, map the event and book and attend sessions of their choice. Even more impressive was the conference Hybrid session that was streamed live to China, the innovative ECCMID TV, a dedicated TV station inside the conference venue that hosted ECCMID committee members, guest speakers and VIP lecturers.
“The registration process was simply flawless. Onsite registration welcomed an over 8,000 participants once the doors opened, and the onsite registration and self-registration stations worked seamlessly, without a hitch,” said Prof. Winfried Kern, ECCMID Programme Director. “What’s more, thanks to the size and scope of the Bella Center, we were able to host a record number of exhibitors. The 165 exhibitors this year in over 4500 sq. m., proudly promoted their products and services.”

The 26th European Congress of Clinical Microbiology and Infectious Diseases, hosted by Kenes, will take place in Istanbul, Turkey, 9 – 12 April 2016.
