Kenes Group Working Closer with BESydney
The Business Events Sydney (BESydney) International Advisory Board (IAB) was established in conjunction with the redevelopment of the International Convention Centre Sydney (ICC Sydney).
Geneva, Switzerland, April 20, 2015 – Kenes Group, a leading Professional Conference Organiser (PCO) and Association Management Company (AMC), today announced the recent nomination of Kenes Group CEO, Dan Rivlin, to the Business Events Sydney’s International Advisory Board (IAB). The Business Events Sydney (BESydney) International Advisory Board (IAB) was established in conjunction with the redevelopment of the International Convention Centre Sydney (ICC Sydney).
Playing a vital role in cementing Australia’s position as a leading global location for international business events, the IAB brings together leaders in business events and related fields from North America, Europe and Asia Pacific to guide and consult BESydney on issues and opportunities facing business event decision makers and destination managers. The harbour city, now more than ever, is gearing up for the much-anticipated development of the ICC Sydney scheduled for its grand opening in late 2016.
BESydney is a partnership between the New South Wales Government and the private sector, and a highly proactive organisation that has been successful in globally connecting Sydney through conventions, conferences, congresses, incentives and business meetings for over 40 years. BESydney promotes Sydney as a business events destination, identifies new event opportunities, and wins these events for Sydney through competitive bid processes, and takes pride in being the first Australian convention bureau in Asia.
Chief Executive Officer of BESydney, Lyn Lewis-Smith, comments, “We are delighted to have Dan Rivlin on board and taking part in this important initiative in our beautiful city. Kenes Group is a long-time supporter of our regional and national events and as CEO, we believe that Dan can provide invaluable insight and guidance to our organisation and our city.”
Kenes is one of the world’s leading Professional Conference Organisers (PCOs), hosting over 3,000 conferences in more than 100 cities around the globe, with over 115,000 participants per year. Founded in 1965 by Gideon Rivlin, a pioneer in the global PCO industry, Gideon was one of the founders of IAPCO and earlier in his career, served as its President. Now managed by his son, Dan Rivlin, the company boasts 16 Kenes offices on four continents, supported by an international team of 300 professionals.
Adds Rivlin, “It’s both an honour and a privilege to be a member of the IAB. Sydney has long been a top-ranking destination for many Kenes clients and we have close ties in the conference community and with many local suppliers and providers. I am confident that together with my fellow board members and the increased importance of Sydney as a preferred meeting destination, we can help grow our client base and welcome them to beautiful Sydney.”
