With a global presence, the Association of Destination Management Executives International (ADMEI) is the voice of DMCs.
Their 2021 conference was planned to take place in Lisbon, but due to the non-permitting situation in February, they had to change the format. Lacking knowledge of how to produce a virtual event, they started looking for a partner – choosing Kenes Group from among 15 other companies.
It was a special conference, as ADMEI wanted to focus on the user experience and knowing that the attendees were mainly event organisers, it just had to be outstanding. The program was adapted to fit two days and included many sessions and content meant to entertain. For example, there was a musical activity as a warmup, then a derby, where the attendees could participate in a virtual race divided into teams. To end the conference with something special, there was the Awards Ceremony (“Energia”).
The success of ADMEI 2021 came with the numbers: 785 people registered from 53 countries when initially only 300 were expected. This project was all about team effort – while Kenes Group Spain team took the lead, it involved talents from different places around the world – United States, Israel, etc., and although there were some challenges along the way, as in any congress, the hard work and patience made for a very successful event.
Lorenzo Pignatti, ADMEI President summarised the collaboration: “ADMEI Virtual Conference without you would have not been possible or at the very least it would have been nowhere near the same huge success and great fun that it has been with your contribution! What KENES delivered went above and beyond our wildest expectations and we cannot thank you enough for this.”
